So, we have this thing for vintage rugs. Some might call it an obsession. We call it a down right crazy, over the moon, can't get enough- ok, it's definitely an obsession. We are so completely in love with them! From Boucherouites to Kilims, Turkish, Persian, Moroccan...we love 'em all. There's just something so special and lasting about a vintage rug. They are timeless and unique, bringing an endless amount of character to any room.
While they can be pricey, we always enjoy scouting flea markets and our favorite online shops for a good deal. Are you loving the trend but getting major sticker shock? Try incorporating a smaller rug into a bathroom, entry or hallway. This is a great way to add character to an otherwise boring space. For something a little unexpected, we love the idea of bringing a vintage rug into a kitchen or nursery (talk about blending old with new)! That balance of vintage and modern is something we are always aiming to achieve with our projects.
We live for our monthly outings to the flea markets, where we find countless vendors with some of the most beautiful rugs you've ever seen. We could spend hours sifting through stacks and stacks of these rugs looking for the perfect addition to a client's space or even one we'd like to call our own. Although we love it, it can be tedious work, especially in the dead heat of a SoCal summer or in southern humidity hell (yeah, we're talkin' to you Nashville). So, we're constantly checking our favorite sites from the comfort of our air conditioned homes, usually with a glass of wine in hand. If you're like us and prefer your rug shopping with a side of air conditioning and booze, check out a few of our favorite online resources below:
