Coastal-Inspired Master Bedroom

We recently put together an E-Design plan for our very own Mama Scott. Yep, no pressure or anything when pulling ideas for the woman who birthed your husband! We shared the first-draft mood board to our Instagram account and have received several inquiries about some of the items shown, so we're listing our sources with you below.

For the in-laws, who live in Orlando, Florida, we went with a coastal-inspired design. They lean toward a traditional aesthetic but with a twist (they're still young and fun, after all!). We wanted to create a space that was relaxing, sophisticated and hinted to a beachy vibe without it becoming a theme. Neutral shades in cream and white will add airy sophistication to the space and help to break up the dark furniture and hardwood floors. The bed, tufted in a natural linen upholstery, is a cost-efficient way to brighten and add softness to the room; bedding will be kept simple and white but layered with texture. For the rug, we chose a coral pattern that sets the subtle coastal vibe. To work with the existing wall color (sage green), we chose art in muted blue and pastel shades. Beach scenes by Lisa Golightly of kikiandpolly, give the nostalgic calming effect that we were going for and we'll bring in a little fun with patterned throw pillows in denim blue.

Overall, the room is soothing, sophisticated and gives a nod to the coastal lifestyle, perfect for our favorite beach-loving couple!
